LOVE and Let Live

There is no racism. There is no homophobia. There is no sexism. There is no religious oppression. There is no classism. There are only two forces at play in all of these issues. There is hate and there is love. These two forces are inversely related such that whenever and wherever one does not lov, hate appears and wherever an inkling of hate appears love does not reside. We can rationalize, we can debate, and we can deduce what we believe to be right or wrong. We can use reason, we can use doctrine and we can use theory. In the end, if you do not love a person or a group of people you are making room for hate to enter. Hate will enter in wherever it can; it does not need an invitation. It simply wants a foothold, so that it can begin to take over and spread itself around. Hate groups understand this. Some groups look for allies in their fight to oppress and destroy gay and lesbian people. Then in the midst of this you will look up to find out that they are now talking in the same way about Jews, Blacks, Latinos and a host of others. Hate is attempting to spread.

What is wonderful about this is that love always prevails. We can stop hating and learn to love an individual or a group of people. If we allow love in the door, hate will run. The other beauty of love is that people are always happier when they love. Have you ever seen a KKK rally or a neo-Nazi march? They are never smiling. With a few exceptions, which I believe are a result of serious mental illness, people cannot be happy when they are being hateful.

So if you have that feeling that a group of people are wrong because of who they are and what they do, why should you judge their actions in a negative way? Have these people attacked you personally? Taken anything from you personally? Even in cases where they have? Can we not learn to love and let live? That should be our new motto. LOVE and let live. We will all be happier. We will all smile a lot more. In the end the only person’s actions you can control are your own. So you can choose to hate or you can choose to love. You can choose misery or happiness. Just know that whatever you open the door to, will try to control the house. If you are afraid of homosexuals or hate gay people, Stop. Don’t judge them. That is not your purpose. Love them as individuals. If you hate Buddhists or Hindus, Stop. Don’t judge them. You can believe that your own religions views are right and still love someone with different views. You and your parents disagree on some things, but you still have the capacity to love them if you choose. Don’t let hate in the door. You will soon find that it is controlling you. Love and let live.
